Hi ~ another good issue. Particularly love Niki Boon's work.

Al Benas

I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Ernie Brooks when he was here for a gallery talk during the inaugural kickoff of Jeanne Adams' show "Fragile Waters." She chose to hold the event at the Mariner's Museum, Newport News, VA, across the bay from my home. What a great talk and gallery tour from a really fascinating and totally approachable guy. His work was groundbreaking (for which he paid a physical toll) and led to special designs for him by Hasselblad and Epson. I have often wondered why I had never seem his work before that show, and was surprised when it recently appeared in a contest issue of "Black & White Magazine" as one of the winning entries, and now in "Lenswork." Ernie's lifetime body of work deserves top billing in photographic publications. You should see the prints on the wall. Thanks for putting them in "Lenswork;" it's been a great reminder of how much I enjoyed my visit with him and his work.
