First two cameras: Canon G-111 QL17 and a Minolta XD-11, the first ever camera with both aperture and shutter priority modes. I was stylin'!

When I was 16 (1965) I was lucky to have a school trip to Russia. It was just before the time the first colour TVs appeared. On arrival I was truly shocked to discover that Russia was in colour, not black and white. I took a Voigtlander Vito B, my first real camera, and a few rolls of Agfa colour slide film. That got me started.

My first was the Mamiya 1000 dtl (1973, new)

Oh, the memories. Nikkormat FTN from 1968. Still have it. Still use it occasionally. CLA'd several years ago and works like new! Wonder how many 4 to 7 grand full frame digital cameras will be around 45 years from now? ;-)
