Kindle and PDFs
Is this new? I'm not sure if I missed it or if there is a new feature in the Kindle Reader app for Android and iPad, but there may be. This morning I downloaded a PDF to my Android tablet and when I tapped to open it I was presented with the predictable dialog box asking which PDF reader app I wanted to use — but with a new option. There it was, the Kindle Reader as a choice for viewing a PDF. I don't remember if this was always possible, but I think not.
Just as an experiment, I opened the PDF using Kindle Reader and it looked great! Single page presentations, fast loading, clear graphics, and a smooth scroll. The only thing I noticed was missing was that the links to jump to bookmarks or linked locations doesn't function. I'd still recommend Mantano Reader as the best option for full functionality, but it was nice to see that the Kindle Reader has at least some functionality with PDFs now.

My original Kindle did read PDFs. It also worked on my Android phone. I never tried it with Kindle reader for PC.
