China, Again
I'm off to China again, this time to help a well-known Chinese photographer with the layout and image sequencing of his forthcoming book. Naturally, I'm adding a few extra days for some photography. Because this will be my third trip to the Middle Kingdom, I'm a bit more prepared than the previous trips — at least I think I know a bit more about what to expect. This will be my first trip to the southern island of Hainan.
If all goes well, I'll do some posting from the road again. I really enjoy sharing what I'm finding. Enough of you appear to be interested in following along ( at least based on the web stats from the last trip) that I'll do my best to make it entertaining. I leave in two weeks. I'll get another blog location started and post a link soon.
In the meantime, if you're interested and missed it the last time, here is a link to my blog about the trip to inner-Mongolia in the dead of winter last January 2011. At least this time I'll be there in warmer weather!
Brooks' books on photography and the creative process are available in print from Lulu.com, and as eBooks for Kindle or EPUB readers. As one of the membership benefits, these eBooks are available in their entirety to members of LensWork Online via download.

You go Brooks! Have a good and safe trip!

Brooks,
Is there anywhere we can see the final images from your last trip to inner-Mongolia?
Thanks and enjoy!

Best of luck in China
Can you at least this time vary your focal length? or POV
Your Mongolian shots are impersonal and distant -- one does not get a sense of the place or occasion -- so what's the occasion in any case, Folio shots lack a narrative.
You seem like outsider looking in with no rapport or connection.
which brings me to my point way are going there anyway Brooksy ?; leaving family behind ? -- isn't there a lot happening right at home; right at your door step so to speak ?
Perhaps you are trying for Travel Photographer of the Year.
Be safe.
